The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of 2 surgery methods for people with bone cancer (osteosarcoma- OST) that has spread to the lung. The 2 types of surgeries are called open thoracic surgery and thoracoscopy. Open thoracic surgery is a type of surgery performed through a single larger incision that goes between the ribs, opens up the chest, and removes the cancer (referred to as “open surgery.”) Thoracoscopy is a type of chest surgery in which several small incisions are made and uses a small camera to help with removing the cancer (“video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery” or VATS). Participants will be randomly assigned to receive open surgery or VATS. The study aims to provide evidence to inform the optimal thoracic surgical management of these patients.
