Cedars-Sinai, IIT2020-10-Jeon-CAMP, pilot, Pancreatitis, Continuous Alcohol Monitoring

What is the Purpose of this Study?

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE Estimate the feasibility of using BACtrack Skyn to monitor changes in blood alcohol concentration among patients at risk for pancreatitis. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES 1 Determine the acceptability of the BACtrack Skyn sensor and the BACtrack breathalyzer as assessed through the System Usability Scale (SUS), for blood alcohol concentration monitoring in this population. Sensors will be deemed acceptable if >=75% of the study population report an acceptability score of 68 or greater. 2 Assess correlations between transdermal alcohol levels (TAC) measured with BACtrack Skyn and the following alcohol-related variables: a) blood alcohol concentration, as estimated by BACtrack breathalyzer; b) patient-reported alcohol consumption c) urine alcohol metabolite (ethyl glucuronide [EtG]) levels 3 Evaluate association between daily max TAC levels and patient reported pain
