Community-Based Strategies for Early Detection of Melanoma

Purpose of Study

What is the Purpose of this Study?

The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether community education and digital skin screening tools can help improve early detection of melanoma when it is most treatable. Eligible participants may include melanoma survivors or friends/family members of melanoma survivors. Participants will be asked to join educational sessions led by a community health worker to learn how to recognize early signs of melanoma and perform skin self-examinations. Sessions will be conducted virtually, with the possibility of future in-person sessions. Every 3 months, participants will also be asked to complete questionnaires, perform a skin self-examination, and help perform a skin examination for a friend or family member.
