This study focuses on people who have a diagnosis of prostate cancer and are being treated with androgen receptor pathway inhibitor (ARPI) therapy. The purpose of the study is to determine whether there is a difference in recommended lipid-lowering therapy (medication used to lower cholesterol) use when patients are referred to cardio-oncology care compared to standard cardiovascular care with their primary care provider (PCP) or general cardiologist. A cardio-oncology specialist is specifically trained in cardiovascular health of patients with cancer. Researchers want to see whether early identification of prostate cancer patients with high cardiovascular risk may benefit from a specialized approach to prevent serious cardiovascular events. Researchers also aim to learn more about biomarkers from blood collected for the study. A biomarker is a biological molecule found in blood other body fluids or tissues that may be a sign of a disease and can be used to predict response to treatment. These specimens will be collected to learn more about metabolic biomarkers of cardiovascular risk and clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP). CHIP is when some of a person’s blood stem cells have picked up a genetic change (mutation) that makes them grow a little faster than others.
