Multidimensional Imaging Data-Driven Approach for Phenotyping Multiple Sclerosis

Purpose of Study

What is the Purpose of this Study?

The purpose of this study is to use a type of brain scan called magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to examine abnormalities in the brain that are affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. Researchers aim to find new ways to describe and measure white matter lesions (areas of brain tissue that are damaged by MS) using MRI images. Specifically, the study will look for patterns or phenotypes (observable features) in the lesions. Researchers also want to determine whether their MRI findings are related to how a person’s MS affects their abilities and daily life. Study procedures include collection of demographic and medical history, disability assessments, and MRI scans of the brain.
